1. Nature of the service
Mintthicket is a free social entertainment website offering casino-themed games that are played exclusively with virtual coins. It is not a gambling service within the meaning of the Norwegian Gaming Act (pengespilloven). No real money is wagered, won, deposited, transferred or withdrawn at any point. Virtual coins have no monetary value, are not redeemable for cash, goods, services or any other consideration, and may not be sold, traded or transferred between users or accounts.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age and resident in Norway to use Mintthicket. Access is restricted at the door by an age confirmation step which you must complete before any game becomes available. By proceeding past the age gate you confirm that the information provided is accurate; making a false declaration is a breach of these terms.
3. Virtual coins
- Virtual coins are issued by Mintthicket and stored locally in your browser.
- Virtual coins have no exchange value, no purchase price, no resale value, and cannot be transferred between users.
- We may, at our discretion, reset, adjust, recover or terminate virtual coin balances at any time, without notice or compensation, for any reason (including but not limited to abuse, automation or technical maintenance).
- Loss of a virtual coin balance — through device replacement, browser reset, technical failure or any other cause — is not compensable.
4. Acceptable use
When using Mintthicket you agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape or otherwise interfere with the service or its underlying code.
- Use scripts, bots, emulators or other automation to interact with the games.
- Represent or imply, in any forum, that virtual coin balances have real-world monetary value.
- Resell, license, sublicense, lease or otherwise commercialise access to the service.
- Access the service from a jurisdiction where doing so would violate local law, or if you are under 18.
- Use the service in any way that could harm minors or vulnerable users.
5. Intellectual property
All trademarks, logos, designs, illustrations, text, software, images and audio appearing on Mintthicket are owned by us or licensed to us, and are protected by Norwegian and international copyright law. You are granted a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the service for personal, non-commercial entertainment only.
6. User-generated content
Mintthicket does not currently host user-generated content. Should this change, additional terms governing acceptable content will be published and apply alongside these terms.
7. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" for entertainment purposes only. Game outcomes are generated by pseudorandom number generators implemented in your browser; no guarantee is made about specific results, runs or sequences. To the maximum extent permitted by Norwegian law, we exclude all warranties — express, implied or statutory — including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability or non-infringement.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mintthicket, its operators, affiliates and contractors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary or punitive damages, including loss of profits, goodwill, data, virtual coins, or substitute services, arising out of or relating to your use of the service. Our total cumulative liability to you, regardless of cause, shall not exceed one hundred Norwegian kroner (NOK 100) — or the equivalent — recognising that the service is offered without charge.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mintthicket against any claim, loss or expense arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the service, or your violation of any third-party right.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the service at any time, without notice, for any reason — including breach of these terms. You may terminate your use of the service at any time by closing the site and clearing local storage on your device.
11. Changes to the service or terms
We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We may also revise these terms; revisions take effect on the date posted. Continued use of the service after a revision constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Norway. Disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall be brought before the ordinary courts of Norway, with Oslo District Court as the agreed first venue. Consumer rights under mandatory Norwegian law are not affected.
