Privacy Policy

A plain-English explanation of what Mintthicket stores, why, and what your rights are under the GDPR and the Norwegian Personal Data Act (personopplysningsloven).

1. Who we are

Mintthicket is a social entertainment website operated for an adult audience in Norway. We provide free, casino-style games that use virtual coins. No real money is wagered, won, deposited or withdrawn at any point.

For privacy questions, contact [email protected]. The controller for any personal data we process is the operator of this site, contactable at the same address.

2. What we collect

Mintthicket does not require you to create an account, and does not ask for your name, email, phone number, address, payment details or identity documents. The site stores three small pieces of information locally on your device using your browser's localStorage:

  • Age confirmation flag — a single value remembering that you confirmed you are 18 or over.
  • Cookie preference flag — a single value remembering that you acknowledged the cookie notice.
  • Virtual coin balance — your current in-parlour coin total, so it persists between visits on the same device.

None of these values is transmitted to our servers. None is shared with third parties. None is combined with anything else that could identify you.

3. What we do not collect

  • We do not run third-party analytics, advertising pixels, fingerprinting scripts or social tracking widgets.
  • We do not place advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies of any kind.
  • We do not collect IP addresses for marketing purposes. Standard web-server logs may briefly record connection metadata for security and abuse prevention; those logs are not used for profiling and are rotated regularly.

4. Legal basis for processing

Where the limited data above is processed, the legal basis under Article 6 GDPR is:

  • Article 6(1)(b) — performance of a contract with you (delivering the requested service) for the virtual coin balance and the age confirmation flag.
  • Article 6(1)(f) — legitimate interests for the cookie preference flag and minimal security logging, on the basis of running a safe, abuse-free website for adult users.

5. International transfers

Local-storage data never leaves your device. Server logs are processed within the European Economic Area. We do not transfer personal data outside the EEA.

6. Retention

Local-storage values stay on your device until you clear them via your browser settings or by resetting the parlour balance. Security logs are retained no longer than reasonably necessary, typically 30 days.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to be informed, to access your data, to rectify it, to erase it, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. Because we hold almost no personal data about you on our servers, most of these rights are exercised directly on your device — clear local storage in your browser to wipe what we know about you. For any other request, write to [email protected]; we respond within 30 days.

8. Complaints

If you believe we've mishandled your data, you have the right to complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet.

9. Children

Mintthicket is strictly for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the site, contact us and we will assist.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the home page for a reasonable period.
